Operational Update |

A few days ago our Safer Neighbourhood Officers joined together with officers from the Rural Crime Team, Commercial Vehicle Unit, and Vanguard Road Safety Team for a day of action targeting fly tipping hotspots and engaging with local farmers across the borough.
Throughout the day 49 vehicles were stopped and five of those were seized. 14 traffic offence reports (TORS) were issued for minor traffic offences and three vehicles were given Section 59 warnings.
S59s are issued when a vehicle is being driven in an anti-social manner and stays on record for 12 months. If the vehicle is seen being driven in a careless, inconsiderate, or anti-social manner again within the year, officers have the power to seize that vehicle on the spot.
Three arrests were made for drug driving. A 25-year-old man and two 16-year-old boys have all been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Tackling rural crime in Tandridge is one of our key priorities, and all reports of rural crime in the borough will receive a follow up call or visit from a police officer or PCSO.
